School Volunteer Background Check Fees to Increase Nov. 1
Starting Nov. 1, 2018, the price for Polk County Public Schools volunteer background checks will increase from $25 to $40.
To coincide with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act, we’re tightening security measures to protect our students, faculty and staff. The increased price for background checks will include: a national background check, Social Security number verification, address verification, multiple name/alias check and terror watch list check.
Volunteers are required to reapply and renew their background check every five years from the date of their application approval.
As a benefit of the new system coming in November, volunteers will be able to apply and make payments online, and the application process will be faster and more efficient.
For now, those wishing to become an approved volunteer should visit www.polkschoolsfl.com/getinvolved, print an application, fill it out, and submit it to the school where you would like to volunteer.
Please see the attached flyer or visit https://tinyurl.com/ybhlb3dv for complete details.

Volunteers needed…if you would like to volunteer on campus helping teachers by making copies for lessons, cutting items out, putting books together, etc. …we would love to have you. Your help would be very much appreciated. Contact Mrs. Wrye, Volunteer Coordinator at FES if you are interested.
With your support thru the Adopt A Class Program our teachers would be able to purchase items towards their classroom that without your support they would not be able to buy. For a sponsorship of $100, you can help our students receive those extras that make a difference in the quality of education our students receive.
Please contact Deanna Norris at Frostproof Elementary if you are interested or for more information in becoming a sponsor.
Thank you to our sponsors for the 18-19 school year:
